Nike x Apron Records

London’s underground music label, Apron Records (@apronrecords), is making its way to Seoul on March 1st. Their journey to Seoul is made even lighter by the release of the “Air 180” sneaker, a collaboration with Nike (@nikesportswear).

Apron Records was founded in 2014 by Steven Julien (@stevenjulien), known as FunkinEven since 2009, who captivated London’s club scene with minimal house and techno sounds. The label was established for his friends and artists surrounding him.

Apron Records has continuously discovered new music, crossing genres between house, techno, and funk. It has not only strengthened the roots of classic Black music but has also evolved into a creative platform beyond just a dance music label.

The “Apron Records x Air 180” sneaker features premium emerald leather and suede, offering a moss-like texture that evokes a surreal atmosphere. This design seamlessly blends with the sci-fi aesthetic Apron Records has showcased through album covers and music videos.

To celebrate the release of the collaborative sneaker, a special event will take place on March 1st. At the pop-up zone located on the second floor of Worksout Apgujeong, visitors can experience various symbols of Apron Records alongside a London-style barbershop. The event will also feature live streaming sets from four local DJs.

Later that night, the afterparty at Modeci Seoul (@modeci_seoul) will offer an opportunity to experience live DJ sets by Steven Julien, Jaren, and other members of the Apron Records team, supported by local DJs.
